One of those great pleasures – sometimes forbidden – is a good hamburger. That which makes us “lose our heads” and “sin” from time to time.
Everybody knows that it is much better, and also much healthier, a homemade hamburger. It has nothing to do with those big chain commercial hamburgers. For that reason, we bring you one of the bases of the homemade and healthy hamburger: the hamburger bun.
Ingredients
- 250 g. of Tritordeum flour
- 2 g. of dry yeast or 6 g. of fresh yeast
- 1 egg
- 40 g. of butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 400 ml. of warm milk
- 100 ml. of warm water
- Poppy or sesame seeds as decoration
Process
- Take a bowl and place the Tritordeum flour in the form of a volcano (with a space in the center). Divide the salt and sugar around the edges without introducing it in the center. Take the dry yeast and place it in the center.
- Add warm water, milk, butter and milk to the mixture (all at room temperature).
- Mix the ingredients, with the help of a spatula, until all are incorporated into the mixture. Once incorporated, move to a table that we previously covered with some flour. Keep kneading until you get an elastic dough (It shouldn’t stick in your hands).
- Grease the bowl with oil and add the dough. Cover it with a cloth and let it rest until it doubles its volume.
- After one hour (approximately), our dough should be already grown. Knead it gently on the table.
- Divide our dough into 6 portions and give it a ball shape.
- Place the 6 balls on a baking tray, well separated so that when they grow, they do not stick together. Cover again with a rag and let them lift again.
- Once ready, paint them with beaten egg very carefully and sprinkle the seeds to decorate.
- Bake our doughs between 10 and 15 minutes with the oven preheated to 200ºC until getting a tan.
- Let cool before opening our rolls and put our burger to taste.
